Behind the Beverage Cart: Insights from our in-house flight attendant

To you, Gilles Bourque may be a peppy part-time sales & marketing coordinator. But his main gig is at an international airline where he’s been a flight attendant for over 7 years.

It was a slow social media day, so Carl distracted Gilles for tips to take note of between takeoff and touchdown. You’ll find snapshots from their conversation below.

When Lesbians Join Gay Group Tours

Gay Travel; Gay Vacation; Lesbian Travel; Lesbian Vacation; Gay Cruise; Lesbian Cruise; Out Adventures.

We may be a gay tour company, but we are hardly exclusive: lesbians have been known to travel with us. Most recently, Danielle and Cindy Mezera were on our Mekong River cruise. They live in Nashville, have been together nine years, and are avid travelers. We asked them to share their experience so other lesbians (and straight people) know what to expect.

Alejandrina, or Ale (pronounced Alley) guided our second-ever tour in 2009 and has been with us ever since. In fact, this mother-of-two may be why Peru is our number-one destination. Everybody raves about her passion for her country.

We rang Ale in Cusco so she could introduce herself to you.

Raising HIV Awareness, One Summit at a Time

I Am HIV

Ferdinand Garcia marked his tenth year living with HIV by surmounting the Peruvian Andes on Out Adventures’ 2013 The Inca Trail and Machu Picchu tour.

Overlooking Machu Picchu, Ferdinand posed for a photo holding a simple sign that read, “I Am HIV”. It was the first of many such international photos he’s taken to raise awareness for HIV/AIDS.

Almost five years later, Ferdinand is now training for Out Adventures’ Nepal & Everest Base Camp Adventure. This time to mark his fifteenth year living a full, active life with HIV.

We rang Ferdinand to learn about his “I Am HIV” campaign and find out how his training is coming along.

Warm up to our Iceland Guide: Gudni Kristinsson

Gudni Kristinsson

Gudni Kristinsson, who has led our Iceland gay getaways since 2012, is best remembered by guests for his delicious smile and huggable persona.

He’s always the first to snorkel the Silfra fissure. The first suited up and into the Blue Lagoon before you’ve started to strip. And he’ll finish his first pint before you’ve screamed “Skál”.

Since he’s a a massive part of this August’s Iceland Pride Adventure, we had him over (okay, we Skyped) to let him introduce himself.
